All is well, Police Commissioner assures Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has reiterated that they will not allow any person or groups to disrupt the 2018 General Election and is reassuring Fijians that they are well postured to counter any attempts to create instability.

He said they are well aware of rumours circulating of rogue groups working towards disrupting the voting process on Election Day and the post-election period if results are not favourable.

“We are warning rumour mongers to stop creating unnecessary fear among the general populace and any attempts to disrupt the Election Process will not be taken lightly.”

“All Fijians should be rest assured that we are working with, and have the full support of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and are closely monitoring the security landscape, and their officers are ready to be deployed at any time to assist us if there is information of unrest that could impact the Election process.”

“Voters are encouraged to cast their votes tomorrow as officers will be deployed to all polling venues and stations, while our routine operations will continue as normal,” he added.

Fijians will head to polls tomorrow to choose the next Government.

The General Election will run from 7.30am to 6pm around various centres throughout the country.
