Bollywood group ready to rock Fiji A 12-member Bollywood dance and musical group led by famous Ghazal artist Penaz Masani is ready to rock Suva tonight.

The group will perform at the Hibiscus Festival main stage together with a musical group from Sydney.

Ms Masani who returns to Fiji after 20 years says she is excited and ready to entertain all music lovers.

“I last came here in 1995 and that was for commercial shows but my visit this time around is very different and special because to me and my troupe will be performing for the audiences here for absolutely free and we are all very excited to be here.”

“Fiji is very special and unique to me. The people here are the friendliest and warmest in the entire world. I told my group that they will not miss home while they are here because this is little India and we will everything about this place. The people, the scenes, the sights, hospitality and just everything here is great and we just cannot wait to interact with the people and have fun with them.”

“I will not be singing Qawali only tonight because it is a night of celebration of Bollywood music and we are ready to rock with the hits from the Indian music industry. We will start with the hits of 50, 60s and 70s before hitting the retro beats and some remixes.”

“I also have with me a famous group from Mumbai called the Planet. They were India’s first contemporary dance group and have performed globally and Fiji should expect a lot from these dances.”

Apart performing tonight and tomorrow at the Hibiscus, Ms Masani and her troupe will travel to the Northern Division next week for shows in Taveuni, Savusavu and Labasa.

The group's Fijian tour has been sponsored by the Indian Cultural Centre at the Indian Embassy in Suva.
